The second stakeholders meeting about “Master Plan for Energy Transition Management Project in Indonesia
about “Master Plan for Energy Transition Management Project in Indonesia”
In October 2016, the Indonesian government ratified the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and announced a goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2060 in the Conference of the Parties in 2021.
In January 2024, supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), “Master Plan for Energy Transition Management Project in Indonesia (the Project)” has started. JICA entrusted a consortium of experts in Japan (JICA Project Team) in order to study how to achieve stable, affordable, and sustainable electricity supply in Indonesia and achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060 collaborating closely with PT PLN and Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as our main counterparts in the Project. The Project consists of studying grid analysis, identification of issues related to power system planning, formation of development status and potential analysis of renewable energy, and strategic environmental assessment.
On 9 April 2026, the second stakeholder meeting was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. All presentation materials and the summary of the SEA study presented at the meeting are available on the PLN website. We are also accepting comments from the public.
